Tencel Lyocell

Lyocell or also called Tencel is obtained from natural raw materials.

Wood from sustainable cultivation is dissolved and spun for production. The production process is referred to as a "closed loop", this a closed production cycle in which all the chemicals are being reused. In fact after the production cycle the remaining water is so clean that you could drink it. This means that no (environmentally) harmful solvents are produced. The production of Tencel Lyocell requires water, energy and chemicals. That is why we speak of man-made fibers on a natural basis. The fibers of Tencel Lyocell do not cause microplastic.

The water consumption of Tencel Lyocell is less than 100l per 1 kg.

For comparison, 1kg of cotton requires 7,000l to 29,000l of water!

Another special feature of this textile is that it is biodegradable. Within 4 weeks, about 75% of the fabric is composted. About 16 weeks are needed for complete decomposition.

Tencel Lyocell ist atmungsaktiv. Laut Untersuchungen kann Tencel Lyocell 50% mehr Feuchtigkeit aufnehmen als Baumwolle.
